EP.48

“Why do you think so?”

“After analyzing the circumstances surrounding Czechia, there is no possibility that the Grand Duchy of Luxenia will sign an armistice with them.”

“Keep talking.”

I continued speaking, pointing around the Principality of Czechia with one hand.

“First of all, if we compare the number of soldiers that can be mobilized in the Duchy of Czechia and the Grand Duchy of Luxenia, the Grand Duchy of Luxenia has fewer troops. Therefore, in a situation where the two countries are in a one-on-one confrontation, if Czechia proposes a peace treaty without any additional demands from Luxenia, which has a smaller power, it will be accepted.”

No matter how ignorant and violent a gangster or gangster is, unless he or she is an idiot, he or she will harass those who are weaker than him or her.

Don’t attack a muscular man who you think will attack you carelessly.

This is not the realm of the intellect, but something that is written instinctively, so even a drunkard who gets into fights with people around him will sober up, apologize on his own, and run away if he thinks he will get into trouble with someone who is bigger and stronger than him. .

Conflicts and wars between nations are similar, in which people try to be selfish in front of those who are stronger than them, and go to war against those who are weaker than them, and take away everything.

And now Luxenia is in a situation where it has no choice but to be defeated by Czechvia, but they say they won’t do that anymore and are going back.

‘Don’t stop here, steal more of my wallet and house!’

There’s no way we can fight anymore while saying this.

“But now that our Reich Empire and Czechia are at war, many of Czechia’s troops have been deployed to this front. So Luxenia now has a certain chance of winning, but if they ask for a ceasefire in this situation, there is no way they will accept it.”

“If you look at the diplomatic situation, it looks like that. However, it is difficult to convince the division commander with that alone.”

“Also, even if a peace treaty is signed with Luxenia and more than 20,000 reinforcements are coming, isn’t that a situation where the Czechoslovaks are losing to our imperial army?”

Well, thanks to our well-organized formation and good training, our battalion achieved achievements such as defeating a battalion of about 50 knights and an infantry battalion.

From the perspective of a battle involving tens of thousands of people, it did not have much of an impact.

“So, if I were the commander of Czechia, I would attack more aggressively in order to somehow win the battle before 20,000 reinforcements arrive. This is because the war must be completed before reinforcements arrive in order to receive full recognition for one’s achievements. But now, rather than showing signs of an active attack, aren’t they using their numerical superiority to slowly pressure them, as if strangling them with cotton?”

Although it is a sound that would have been full of dissatisfaction if it had been heard by junior officers and soldiers fighting on the battlefield.

In today’s war, the Czechavian army did not try to fight that actively.

If that were the case, there would be no way that only about 50 people would have been mobilized when the knights came aiming for our flank.

They would certainly have mobilized at least a thousand men to inflict a heavy blow not only on our battalion but also on the entire division.

If that were the case, the number of casualties among our troops would have been at least several times that of today.

“You are right. “So, if they spread this rumor intentionally, can you guess why they did it?”

I declared those words.

“The morale of our troops is low. Improved morale of the Czechoslovak army. Furthermore, they will be waiting for our allies to get caught up in their strategy and split the army. “It is difficult to predict how the game will be divided between 40,000 and 50,000, but if we are captured by the enemy and only send one division, we will be fighting 50,000 with 32,000 men.”

Officers like me and the colonel studied for four years at the academy to a level worthy of high school seniors, and were instilled with rational thinking and military knowledge.

Even if the enemy army is increased by 20,000 people, he is more like a human being who has been remodeled to use his brain to find a way out.

Therefore, unless the situation is completely ruined, there is little chance of poor judgment or frustration.

But what about the soldiers who have not learned properly, have no motivation to fight, and whose only goal is to return home safely?

When they hear that our troops, which number only 40,000, are fighting against 70,000, some people will fall into despair, thinking that we will all die.

At the same time, there are those who continue to tell despairing stories, dropping the morale of the unit to the lowest level, those who try to survive even by deserting, and there may be scum who try to take advantage of this opportunity by conniving with the enemy.

On the other hand, the enemy’s morale will skyrocket, and their combat power will also increase.

How much of an advantage would the enemy have if we lost up to 8,000 of our soldiers right away?

“I understand. However, since His Majesty the Crown Prince told us to keep them in check, we must also come up with an alternative. Do you have any thoughts?”

After hearing that and looking at the map, I thought of a pretty good method.

“There are highs and lows. The first option is to be fooled by the enemy’s intentions and mobilize one division as is to prepare for the enemy’s 20,000 reinforcements, which are not even there.”

“That’s interesting. “Then what are the middle and best measures?”

“The key strategy is to mobilize 8,000 people and spread the rumor that a division will be mobilized to prepare for 20,000 people. If we do that, the commander of Czechia will think we have been caught and will increase his attack momentum, so all we have to do is find a loophole in the enemy and if it is revealed, we can attack it.”

Although he said it to make it seem like there was something to it, it was nothing more than a roughly conceived strategy to gain the upper hand.

That is because in war, it is the most basic common sense to attack the enemy when he reveals a loophole.

What I actually said was, ‘If you want to be first in your school, stick to class time and study mainly from textbooks.’ Because it’s no different.

“The best plan is to mobilize one division like the bottom plan and move to the area near Mount Kaynes, which is about a day away from the battlefield where we are fighting. We set up camp and pretend to prepare for 20,000 enemy troops. You have to stay there for about 7 days, send out scouts, build a camp, and act as if you are preparing for a real enemy attack. Then, after a week, we fight a large-scale battle in which we use our 32,000 troops like an anvil and one division, including our regiment, like a hammer to catch the enemy off guard.”

“If we do that, I think the remaining allies will suffer from the enemy’s onslaught for a week. “Are you okay?”

“Unless His Highness the Crown Prince and Count Vener make a big mistake, the temporary absence of 8,000 troops will not cause much damage. Rather, if a battle like today’s continues over a long period of time, the damage to our troops with fewer troops will gradually accumulate and they will suffer great damage.”

Fighting the enemy from the front is not a bad idea, but the fun of the battle is the linkage between the unit that acts as the anvil and the friendly unit that acts as the hammer.

Wouldn’t it be better to put the enemy’s troops in a semi-surrounded state and apply pressure using the anvil and hammer at the same time to annihilate them?

“Also, the policy is consistent with the orders given by His Majesty the Crown Prince. So, after victory, wouldn’t it be a perfect picture to announce that Your Majesty planned all of this?”

I feel like I want to be the number one public servant this time, but since I belong to a country called an empire ruled by an emperor.

Additionally, if you are a member of the crown prince’s faction, you must not stand out in a more positive light than the crown prince under any circumstances.

Otherwise, you will face all kinds of checks and persecution.

And the crown prince is a person who will reward me generously if he knows that I have made concessions so that he can achieve his achievements, so in times like this, I should give him as much as I can.

When the colonel heard that, he laughed and said.

“Thanks to your recommendation, I naturally joined His Highness the Crown Prince’s faction. As a result, my personnel evaluation was reflected favorably, and I was even promoted to colonel. So, if I want to earn a star under Your Highness later, I will have to listen to you.”

“You will soon be promoted and become a general. Please take a good look at it then.”

“Then, I will process and recommend the best plan you mentioned to the division commander. “I hope to see you and I both promoted by the end of this war.”

By the time we finished the heavy conversation we had to have.

“By the way, Count Benner’s only daughter serves as my adjutant, and today, in a daytime battle, she led a platoon under my command and killed the company commander herself. “Can you please reflect this in the personnel evaluation?”

“If you have completed the minimum period of service, the division commander will personally issue a promotion order within a few days. “Isn’t she the second-in-command’s daughter?”

And a week later, the 9th Reich Division of the Czechavian Expeditionary Force, of which I was a member, moved to the vicinity of Kaynes Mountain.

My adjutant, Second Lieutenant Laura, succeeded in being promoted to lieutenant a little faster than others with the authority of division commander.
